Privacy Policy

The short version is: we do not run servers for the App, we do not have a database for App usage, and we do not collect or store your chats or API keys. However, third‑party services you choose to use through the App may collect and process your data, and you should review their policies carefully.
This Privacy Policy describes how Perma Evidence S.A. ("Perma Evidence", "we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the HopPT mobile application (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies only to:
- your use of the HopPT iOS App; and
- any personal information you choose to send directly to Perma Evidence (for example, by email).
This Policy does not apply to:
- any third‑party LLM providers, web search APIs, web scraping/reader services, or other external services you connect to through the App;
- any content or data handled by those third parties.
Those services have their own privacy policies and terms. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting those before using them.
2. Information We Do Not Collect via the App
When you use the App, Perma Evidence:
- does not require you to create an account or register;
- does not receive your chats, prompts, or model outputs;
- does not receive or store your API keys or configuration;
- does not operate any backend servers that log your requests or usage;
- does not run analytics or tracking on App usage.
In other words, Perma Evidence does not collect personal data about your use of the App itself. All processing happens on your device and with the third‑party services you configure.
3. Information Processed Locally on Your Device
The App may store or process the following types of information locally on your device only, to provide its functionality:
- your chosen LLM endpoints and configuration;
- your API keys for third‑party services (e.g. LLMs, search, scraping);
- your chat history and prompts;
- other App settings and preferences.
This information:
- is stored solely on your device (subject to your iOS backups or cloud settings controlled by Apple and/or you);
- is used only by the App to function as you direct;
- is not transmitted to Perma Evidence.
If you want to delete this locally stored data, you can:
- delete configuration and chats from within the App (if features exist); and/or
- uninstall the App (which typically removes its local data from your device).
Please note that uninstalling the App does not delete data already sent by your device to third‑party providers; you must follow their procedures for any data rights.
4. Third‑Party Services and Data
When you configure and use the App with external services (LLMs, search, scraping, etc.):
- your device sends your prompts, chats, and other data directly to those third‑party providers using your API keys;
- those providers may collect, store, and process your data in accordance with their terms and privacy policies.
Perma Evidence:
- does not operate or control those services;
- does not receive the data you send to them;
- is not responsible for their data practices or security.
You are solely responsible for:
- choosing which providers to trust;
- understanding how they use your data;
- configuring any privacy or retention settings they offer.
5. API Keys
5.1 Where keys are stored.
API keys you enter into the App are stored locally on your device and used only to send requests to the providers you select.
5.2 No Perma Evidence access.
Perma Evidence does not have access to your API keys and does not log or store them.
5.3 Your responsibility.
You are solely responsible for:
- keeping your keys secure;
- revoking or rotating keys if you suspect compromise;
- understanding any costs, quotas, or rate limits associated with your keys.
Perma Evidence cannot recover your keys or manage them for you and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, is not liable for any misuse, loss, or exposure of your keys.
6. Information You Voluntarily Provide to Us
If you contact us directly (for example, by email at permaevidence@protonmail.com), we may receive:
- your email address;
- the contents of your message;
- any other information you choose to provide.
We use this information solely to:
- respond to your inquiry;
- improve the App if your message contains feedback or bug reports.
We do not sell, rent, or otherwise monetize such information. We retain it only as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes or as required by law.
7. Data Security
7.1 Our role.
Perma Evidence does not operate servers for the App and does not store your in‑App data. However, we use reasonable measures to protect any information you send to us directly (for example, emails).
7.2 Your role.
Because your chats, API keys, and configuration are stored on your device, the primary security measures are under your control. You are responsible for:
- maintaining the security of your device (e.g., passcodes, biometric locks);
- installing updates for iOS and other software;
- using secure networks where possible;
- managing your backups (e.g., iCloud or other services).
7.3 Third‑party services.
The security of any data sent to third‑party services (LLMs, search, scraping, etc.) is governed by their own systems and policies. Perma Evidence has no control over, and is not responsible for, those measures.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of any information.
8. International Use
Perma Evidence is based in Costa Rica, but the App may be used globally, and the third‑party services you connect to may be located in various countries.
Because Perma Evidence does not receive App usage data, we generally do not engage in international transfers of your personal information in connection with App usage.
If you contact us by email or through other direct channels, your information may be processed in Costa Rica and/or in other locations where our email or service providers operate.
9. Your Rights
Because Perma Evidence does not collect or store personal information related to your in‑App usage, many typical data‑subject rights (access, deletion, correction, etc.) do not apply to your App usage data in relation to us.
- To exercise rights regarding data held by third‑party providers (LLMs, search, etc.), you must contact those providers directly.
- To remove App data from your device, you can uninstall the App.
If you have provided personal information directly to Perma Evidence (for example, via email), you may contact us
at permaevidence@protonmail.com to request access, correction, or deletion of that information,
subject to legal requirements.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this Policy.
If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example, via release notes). Your continued use of the App after any changes means you accept the revised Policy. If you do not agree, you should stop using the App and uninstall it.
